December 4, 1946, Christmas seems closer at hand on Main street by night when the sidewalks are cleared of hurrying, shoving masses of shoppers. The main drag has been given its showiest arrangement of decorations since the war of this year's holidays, and store windows have spread on the lights and tinsel lavishly.
