Quanah Parker and his band while visiting OKC in 1909. A Comanche warrior and political leader who served as the last official principal chief of his tribe, Parker was the son of Peta Nocona, a Comanche chief, and Cynthia Ann Parker, a white captive of the Comanches. Parker died February 23, 1911, and is buried at Fort Sill. This image is a previously unknown photograph found in the Oklahoma Century Chest which was buried on April 22, 1913 at the First Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City and Opened 100 years later at the church on April 22, 2013.
