Downtown Oklahoma City Street Scene, 1935 - This photograph presents a downtown Oklahoma City street scene, with a view looking north on North Robinson from Grand Avenue (now Sheridan Avenue). The photograph was taken in 1935 by Meyers Photo Shop. Significant buildings in this photograph include the Colcord Building, the Baum Building, and the First National Bank Building. Businessman Charles Colcord hired architect William A. Wells to build the twelve-story Colcord Building in 1909–1910. The thirty-three-story Art Deco/Neoclassical style First National Bank Building was constructed in 1931. Renowned architect Solomon Layton modeled the 1910 Baum Building after the Doge’s Palace in Venice, Italy.
