OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak is requesting assistance from retired insurance agents who are no longer licensed in the state of Oklahoma to volunteer at the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) Consumer Assistance booth during the tornado disaster recovery period.
“There is a great need from so many people due to the tornado disasters earlier this week and we need to help them,” said Doak. “For them to have any confusion or frustration during the recovery process while navigating insurance claims is the last thing they need. We are set up to offer help, but we need others to join with us in this great effort.”
The Consumer Assistance booth is available to residents with insurance needs indefinitely during disaster recovery at the Insurance Command Center located at 301 NE 27th St., Moore, Okla. Retired insurance agents who are available to volunteer at the Command Center can call 405.521.2828, press 0 for operator, or visit www.oid.ok.gov and click on “contact us” to arrange date and times.
In addition to OID’s Consumer Assistance, major insurance companies are on location with mobile response units to help victims of the tornado.
