Oklahoma City Birds-Eye View, Lithograph, 1890 - Less than one year after the Land Run of 1889 established Oklahoma City, Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler sketched this “birds-eye view” of the burgeoning town. Around the turn of the century, artists traveled to prominent towns across the country and sketched these scenes for newspapers and magazines. Note the street names and railroad station locations that are the same today as they were in 1890.
